MySpanishTeacher.com is a family business and is run by Kendal and Philipp Knetemann who live and work in Aurora, Colorado.

Kendal and Philipp both grew up speaking another language and share the experience of wanting and needing to learn another language in order to assimilate into new surroundings. They strongly believe that people who move away from their homeland have an obligation to learn their new country's language. They understand with first-hand knowledge that this is a process that takes time.

They observed a growing problem unfold as this country struggled with the inability to communicate with an increasingly Spanish-speaking population. In April of 2005, they decided to do something about it. With Kendal's Spanish language and teaching skills and Philipp's expertise in programming and web design, they set out to design user-friendly, cost effective online courses to teach critical Spanish vocabulary

• Each course is designed to teach the essential Spanish vocabulary for a specific job environment.
• They are not attempting to make everyone bilingual.
• They designed an interactive online learning tool that is to be used on an ongoing basis.
• Effort is rewarded with success in these courses.

They began with the law enforcement community because Kendal's first-hand experience working with police officers convinced them that this type of training was critical to everyone's safety. They launched SpanishOnPatrol on October 5, 2005. Thousands of law enforcement officers are using it every day. They have since designed courses for the educational community and the financial industry.

Kendal and Philipp run their company full-time and have hired two part-time editors. They use an interview process to gather the materials found in the courses. This allows them to capture the essential Spanish vocabulary required for peak job performance in various fields. Because of the interactive nature of these courses, the students taking the course can directly affect the content, ensuring that the curriculum content is always up-to-date. It is their hope that these courses will alleviate the stress and frustration that many workers face every day.

Our latest project

We have embarked on a new project! Our latest goal is to teach English to all immigrants in America. Work on this project has just started. The goal is to provide free English language courses available to everyone. English is the language that unites us and allows all residents of the United States to communicate and harmonize as a nation. The American Harmony Project is our most ambitious project yet.
